If you're looking for a family friendly, pet friendly RV campground with a pond, fishing, and a little bit of history thrown in for good measure, then look no further. Ballyhoo Family Campground lies in the Cumberland Plateau. A nice place to take a break from the hustle & bustle of the city.
This RV park is very well equipped. It also has a large dog area. You can also play disc golf at the RV park, even if you're not in your new RV. The campsite boasts many other perks beyond the obvious. There is a 9-hole Frisbee Course, a putting Green, and even a Pond. It is convenient to Byrd Lake, which makes it a great spot for a picnic. The campground is in a beautiful setting, and the owners are more than willing to share the wealth.
You may find campgrounds that offer only basic amenities like electricity and cable TV. Others have full-service RV sites with all the trimmings. While I haven't been to Ballyhoo Family Campground yet, I am willing to wager that it is a great place for a few hours. According to my sources, the owners Stanley and Doris Watkins seem friendly and will likely host future guests.
The best thing about the ballyhoo or batty is that they are family-owned and operated. This means that they will be happy to assist you when possible. You can contact them via the phone, email, or Facebook, or you can just show up on their doorstep. The site is in a wooded area. If you are feeling brave enough, there are nearby waterfalls. During the summer months, it can get warm in the area, so bring your jacket or light raincoat.
There are many things to do at this campground. This RV park is a favorite among families and tourists for many decades. It is only four miles from the campground. The camp is located in quiet country surroundings that are a delight to be in.
