Patagonia can be described as a vast region of South America. It lies at the border with Chile and Argentina. It is well-known for its glaciers and fjords as well as the temperate rainforests. The oceans that surround the land include the Atlantic, Pacific and Beagle Channel. A large portion of the area is under the jurisdiction of both countries.
Patagonia, the name of the region, derives its name form a Patagonian tribal tribe. The first European to cross the great Patagonian plain was Rodrigo de Isla, who visited the area in 1535. The Spanish crown maintained de jure sovereignty over the region, although it was not keen to colonize it. There were many indigenous communities in the area that existed before 1715's boundary treaty. The Tehuelches were among these. Some indigenous groups survived, while others perished. In the 18th century, several coastal settlements were built.

There are two major regions in the province. 90% of the territory is in Argentina Patagonia, also known as Patagonia Del Sur. The remaining 10% is shared by Chile. They have different climates. The Argentine side is more desert-like with its grasslands, while Chile's side has more temperate areas called Los Lagos. The Andes Mountains form the boundary between the two regions.
The highest mountain in the world, Cerro Chalten (also known as Monte Fitz Roy), is located in Patagonia. The area is visited by many tourists each year. It is a popular destination for skiers, trekkers, and nature lovers. Other noteworthy landmarks include San Francisco's volcanic cone and Magallanes Glacier. Winter visitors to the area should be aware of heavy snowfall.
Patagonia's natural splendor is not only breathtaking, but also includes the Andes mountains and glaciers as well as the fjords, lakes, and fjords. Many environmental activist campaigns have been launched to preserve the region in the past. They ranged from green tourism campaigns in the 1990s, to today's. It is testament to this, that the region has been a leader in the Living Wage movement.

Patagonia's most popular products are not the only ones that are well-known. It is also one of the most forward-thinking brands in the sport & outdoor clothing sector. The company actively participates in the 1% for Planet initiative and is a member to the Sustainable Apparel Coalition. Its latest innovation was the introduction in Worn Wear which gives customers a unique way to view its wares.
