
San Gorgonio Campground is a peaceful mountain area in the San Bernardino National Forest. It's located only 36 miles northeast from San Bernardino, close to Jenks Lake and the Santa Ana River. You can enjoy many recreational activities from this campground.
Hiking is the park's main activity. There are many hiking trails in the park, including Rio Monte Panorama. Rio Monte Panorama is a gorge overlooking the Santa Ana River Valley. This loop is approximately two and a half miles long and is part of the Jenks Lake Trail.
There are several small mountain lakes close to the campground. Angelus Oaks, Big Bear Lake and Jenks Lake are just a few of the small mountain lakes near the campground. These lakes are stocked with rainbow trout, largemouth bass, and bluegill. The area is home to some poisonous snakes. Please ensure your pet is well behaved by reading the campground rules.

The campground's toilets are located centrally. These include free toilets and showers. Picnic tables are available. The park offers a rental option for tents. While most campsites can accommodate RVs of up to 55 feet, there are some that can accommodate larger RVs. You can also find back-in spots.
The type of RV, as well as the distance from the campground, will affect the RV rental rate. A three-day rental of a motorhome costs $880. Be sure to add the extra mileage fee and base delivery fee if you plan to rent an RV. You may also consider purchasing driving insurance depending on your needs. You will need minimum state-mandated insurance coverage.
It is a good idea to book ahead if you plan to visit the San Gorgonio Family Campground. This is especially important if you plan to visit on the weekend holidays. Weekends require a minimum of two days. You can reserve up to six weeks in advance.
There are hot showers, flush toilets, and drinking water at San Gorgonio campground. On the weekends of summer, there are many campfire events.

The park's primary activity is wildlife viewing and hiking. Many nearby campgrounds have trails and access. The park is only a few miles from Jenks Lake and Big Bear Lake. The Rim of the World Scenic Byway passes by the campground. There are two loops at the San Gorgonio campground. The western loop allows for more privacy between the sites.

The camp sites are located in a mature oak and pine forest. Some have shade. It is important to remember the sun will still be out in the summer. Wear sunscreen and a hat if you are riding, and bring your helmet.
