Yellowstone National Park has been voted one of America's top national parks. This national park is located between Montana and Wyoming. It boasts stunning geological formations as well dramatic canyons and hotsprings.

The park is spread over 3,500 square miles. It is home to beautiful scenery and some of the most significant geothermal features in the United States. Yellowstone has the largest free-roaming bison colony in the United States.

The best time to visit the park is in the spring and summer. The entire park can be hiked in just a few weeks. Avoid crowds in summer if you're planning on a trip. For a successful visit to the park, it is important that you have plenty of water and sunscreen.

The park also has several easy boardwalk trails. A beautiful hike that winds through narrow canyons is the Bear Gulch Cave Trail. The canyon is home to a creek. Along the trail, bisons and other creatures can be seen.

There are many waterfalls, gorges and lakes in the park. There are dozens of epic hikes for those interested in taking in the scenery. If you are lucky, you might spot pronghorn and bears in the Lamar Valley. You might even be able to spot bison and elk during your visit.

The park's spectacular landscapes can either be explored on foot or by bike. The park's majestic mountains offer breathtaking views. There are also a number of scenic drives to enjoy. You can also take a tour of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.

You could also visit Jackson, Wyoming and West Yellowstone Montana if time permits. There are numerous lodging options and shops in West Yellowstone.

If you intend to spend any time in the park, you will need to buy a recreational permit. You can also book camping reservations and other activities. These are subject to availability and may be charged extra so you will need to reserve your place in advance.

While the park's northern section is more barren, the west side is lush. There are many trails you can explore and it is possible to spend as short as an hour exploring the park. To see the most stunning views in the park, you can hike four miles.

Whether you're an adventurer or just someone looking to take in the scenery, a trip to the national parks is a must-do for your next USA road trip. The National Park Service manages the parks and preserves wildlife for future generations. You can find out more about these parks online and on the Hello Ranger podcast.

Yellowstone and the surrounding Arches National Parks are worth a visit if you're looking for an unforgettable road trip. If you don't have time for the full trip, consider a day-trip from Grand Teton or Glacier to get a taste of the parks.
